I have been using it in a crawl space where I have been hitting my head a lot - i can't wear a hard hard had because they keep falling off and are too bulky. This has been perfect. It is pretty large - my hat size is 7 1/2 and this fits loosely, stays on, but I can fit a thin beanie under it as well. Review: Quality control issues but great for under the house or in the roof crawl spaces - All parts of the hat are functional but the sewing and proportions are off, the brim was not attached right either. I only planned on wearing it in the roof crawl space for a single job so not a big deal if it isn't cosmetically perfect. It's a bit light weight, the lightest weight bump cap I own actually. Bump caps aren't ANSI hats so I chose this one for the job and comfort, fine for a homeowner, I would not be allowed to wear this at the power plants I work at though. Nylon cloth shell over margarine tub plastic- there is no ARC rating or impact standard in play here. One thing- the design concept pulls my rating up on this hat, the sewing was that bad. Anyway, the micro brim is great for tight spaces. Bump caps with bigger brims (baseball cap styles) often get in the way of over head work, that isn't an issue with this hat.
