It did not come with instructions. I opened and closed it a few times and it was white. Went into my darkened bedroom to see how bright it was and this time it opened as a different color. Opened and closed it some more times and saw the different colors and finally got back to white. Later when I opened it, it cycled thru all the colors. Is there a way to determine what it's going to do? I don't know how it was doing the cycling, or why sometimes it opens as white and others as different colors. I think all the colors are very pretty. I did notice a corner where it was glued was already coming loose and I pushed it back but I'm concerned that over time the glue won't hold. A disappointment that to it didn't even make it a year before my daughter could no longer use it.===========================================Bought this for my daughter and stopped working after a few days. Luckily the company that makes them has great customer service and responded immediately by shipping me a new book lamp.
