Is it ok to use?** A: Using mocca pots for years (different ones though), discolouration is normal and to be expected over the course of time. If nothing is bent, broken or molten, you'll be fine. You basically got it patina prematurely. Try very good metal polish for the outside (Wenol, Blue Magic, others may scratch it) and scrub the inside. Inside I take steelwool to mine if I have residue, but then none of mine have any coating (and I have never seen one with coating). One last thing: what you NEVER EVER EVER (clear? ;-) want to do want while the pot is hot (with or without water in it): shocking it with cold water. That may warp it beyond use, plus you could get hurt.Happy brewing! **Q: The metal handle irks me a bit - doesn't it get hot? Or is there no heat transfer from pot to handle?** A: The handle does not get very hot, however the lever thats attached to the lid gets very hot and has to be handled with care to avoid getting burned. **Q: the handle of ours broke off, is it possible to just buy the top part of it?** A: I answer your question, I have not needed to change any external part of the coffee machine, so I can not help you. **Q: can this be used on an induction burner?** A: I don't think the stainless steel counts as ferromagnetic metal, which it looks like the induction burner requires.
