I love the idea of taking an older engine and upgrading it to use modern technology. The author seems extremely knowledgeable and by chance was the same individual that responded to my inquiries on the EFI connection website. This book was the tipping point for me to decide to convert my 1985 Tuned port injected Camaro to a modern computer. While it will still be Tuned Port injection, it should be able to process signals and adjust many times faster. The case studies are fun and thought invoking as well. It just goes to prove the author stands by their book and the processes described therein. It's not just another "LS" engine swap manual; it's about the electronics that came on these powertrains and how they can be adapted to work properly on other GM engines -OR- on your LS swap. Each chapter covers a different feature or function of the PCM, and the different ways you might address that function in your application. The book also features plenty of photos of the factory parts you might need, complete with part numbers, original applications, and side-by-side comparisons so you can easily identify them on a donor vehicle. (Like an "interchange" manual for LS electronics covering PCM's, all the various sensors, coils, IAC valves, etc). Toward the end of the book there are a few sample projects of vehicles that have been successfully retrofit to use "LS" series PCM's.
