Are anti-corrosion outdoor screws required?** A: I just used a 3.5mm x 30mm exterior screw for each bracket. I wasn’t bothered about the look of the screw as I over clad each wooden post with a full height 2.4m vertical section of pressure treated 125mm wide timber. This bridges the gap at the top where your post is not long enough. This covered the face of the existing 1.8m post and the extended 600mm bracket and trellis sections.
