I shook them like I was trying to get the last little bit of conditioner out of the bottle. You can feel the texture change as your shaking it. After I shook the ba-geezus out of it, I squeezed out the amount I needed and the liquid was nice and thick! EXACTLY what I expected out of an oil based gel. I have not had the opportunity to use them with chocolate yet, but I did use them to color sugar as a decorative element. Let me tell you! They are AMAZING!! They're pretty vibrant IF you use the correct amount!! I used like 2 or 3 drops for 1/4 cup of sugar and didn't get the exact color I wanted, so I added 1-2 more drops and it was PERFECT! If you use these to color sugar, you WILL NEED to dry the sugar back out, unless your want more of a damp sandy texture. BUT!! When I dried my sugar back out, the colors became WAY more vibrant!!
