But I opened it up and cleaned it out with electrical contact cleaner and an air duster and it worked fine, except that the beeper sounded a little anemic. While I had it open I removed the lanyard that I never used and put in a couple pieces of thin styrofoam under the buttons to make them harder to press accidentally.
