Box says it's 7075 aluminum, which is a high strength machinable alloy often used for aircraft parts. This thing is solid, and well and smoothly finished. The flanges are 1/4" thick, 5/8" apart, and just about 4" outer diameter. The hole is 1 3/8" inner diameter. The waist inside the groove is 2 1/2" outer diameter. All these values are a bit approximate because the surfaces are all slightly tapered; for example at the bottom of the groove between the flanges, the drill bit size that most closely fits the curve is 9/16". I can't imagine damaging this thing with synthetic rope! Used with a soft shackle and once you have tension on the pulley it didn't come out of groove. Worked very well.
