How does the mop prevent water getting in to vacuum?** A: The separate head has an attached bottle to collect the water. **Q: Is there a drip tray for this? I didn't see anything for that myself. **Q: Does this vacuum and mope at the same time??** A: Hello, well it picks up the dirty water so whatever stuff is mixed in with it. So my answer would be yes because it does pick up the dirty water. Now that being said I would want to try it on my carpet. But I was really amazed at just how well this does some serious cleaning. Not sure if that helped. **Q: Has anyone purchased a new mop roller (the trees cloth part that spins) for this mop head? This add on device works great for quickly cleaning the floor, especially when compared to the arduous task of using a bucket and mop or the non-mechanical quick mop devices that seems to leave a sticky residue.I used plain water the first time and it cleaned without a problem. It was easy to set up, clean, and put away. The mechanical device rotates at a fast effective speed making it more practical than the aforementioned devices. Ok, maybe it does *by P***T on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2024* If you read my initial review. I was not sure if I would send it back. I decided to keep the unit. It has proven value for simplifying the application of floor polishes. Its use for routine cleanings is still less than satisfactory. It may be valuable as a replacement for paper towels in wet spills (w/toddlers?), but this is not my need.I did not like the lines it left on the floor. I have learned that the lines the attachment was leaving on the floor are greatly reduced by adding a polish to the supply water. Secondly, I found that not rushing the mop head... in other words, stay focused on one area and move slowly until more water has been applied and removed to the area greatly reduces the lines. Some of the line creation, it seems came from simply having very dirty floors on my first effort. As I use it regularly the floors are showing a better appearance. I'm still on the fence as far as if it is more convenient than just using the libman twist mop, but it is doing its job. So I'm increasing my overall rating from 2 stars to 3. For the use of an occasional polish /wax of the floors I'll give it a 4 star rating. I think the deciding factor on if you want to buy this is whether or not you mind pulling out an old school mop. At this point if I have some muddy paw prints the mop is coming out. If I want to make my floors look shiny, this attachment is being used to apply the wax.************************************************* Original review follows ***********************I read all the reviews I could and thought most of the negatives reviews had expectations that were not in line with what the product was designed to do... So I will address things from the reviews I read and try to add in my own experiences around the common complaints found in other reviews. I have not made a decision on returning this yet. I an not a prolific returner of things, I use amazon a lot and I do not I've ever returned anything. I'm going to use it 10 times and if I cannot get satisfactory results, I will return. I will also update this review as I learn more about the product.My purpose in buying was to find an easy way to clean up my hardwood (LVP) floors. I have 150lb dogs that leave lots of hair (caucasian ovcharkas, if the visual helps) and will track in mud when its wet so I begin everyday with a vacuum and a libman twist wet mop on an area of 14 by 30 feet. I am not trying to pick up clods of dirt with this thing. What I am trying to clean up are reasonable smudgy footprints of paws and shoes tracked in, not clumps. The floor was thoroughly vacuumed before using this mop head.Overview:In the first three cleanings I found that the product does not adequately clean the floor. Rather it "mops" around dingy water that predictably leaves a dull film. When it was first wet with the mop attachment I was excited as I believed it was doing a great job but after completing the first mopping, the original muddy footprints reappeared as the floor dried, along with dull parallel lines spaced about 1 inch apart left by the spinning mop head.Even if the thing got the floors clean, after adding in the amount of time it takes to clean the device (not a big deal but its not as simple as rinsing the libman twist mop) I don't see it as being a value add.Model: Dyson Animal SV10Build: This is solid as it needs to be. It feels compatible with the quality of my original Dyson attachments. Its a nice gadget, well designed and operates as designed (which may mean its design is flawed as you read on but quality here is definitely not an issue). Its easy to operate, disassemble and clean. The mop head is like a short nap paint roller. It gets wet as you vacuum and the idea is that it will pick up dirt and the vacuum will suck the dirt/dirty water into the bin. I'm not so sure that works effectively. The mop wets and spins against the floor but there is not enough water being removed from the mop head to prevent the floor from becoming hazed from dirty water.During my first use it did not pick up any water. I found that there is a door on the top of the collection bin that was not sealed properly. I closed this and got better results on my second attempt. The floors were drier when I finished after properly closing this door to obtain a seal. On the second pass I think I picked up about 25% of the water put down. On my first use, the floors took about 5-8 minutes to dry on a cold South Dakota winter day with the heat set at 63. On my second use with the door properly closed it took 3 to 5 minutes for the floors to dry.Does not dispense water: On my first attempt it did not dispense water. I investigated and FIRMLY snapped the water container to the unit and it worked fine. You just have to push till it snaps. I think the tendency is for people to be afraid of breaking the plastic (as I was) so they don't push it in far enough. Once properly attached it worked fine. Do not construe that this is poorly made from the "afraid to break" comment. It is as solid as any dyson attachment.Noise: Not really any louder or quieter than the original general purpose dyson floor attachment. It whirs more and the original buzzes a bit more. A distinction without a difference.Wobbly head. I did not notice this trait at all. It moves a little different than the dyson attachments but it goes where directed. I found that I had to keep it out in front of me. Maybe an extra foot than the original dyson head. The angle to the floor just wants to be a tiny bit lower to prevent lifting the wheels off the floor. This is not a negative. Its just a difference. I'm 5' 9" maybe if I were 6'9" I might feel like I was holding the vacuum lower than natural? Again, does not seem like a reasonable thing to call a problem here.Does not work on carpet: This complaint stumped me since its a hardwood floor attachment. No it wont do anything on carpet as it was not designed for this purpose.Does not work on hair: The ad says not to use it on hair. Yes, hair is a problem. I vacuumed first to get all the hair I could. There will always be hair on the floor with big hairy dogs around. It balled up the bits of hair it encountered and left them behind which I don't consider a problem The finer hairs got sucked in and I can see they could easily plug the suction port above the mop where the water returns to the bin so you definitely have to clean it after each use. Hair getting caught around the roller does not look like it would be an issue unless you did repeated moppings without cleaning the device. With neglect nothing works properly, right?Leaves bubbles on the floor when using soap: Putting soap in it seems like an odd thing to do. I suspect it would leave bubbles. I used a generic mop and glo kind of product. Worked fine.Streaks floors: It takes a minute or two for the head to get saturated. After that point it spread an even thin film of water on the floor. The amount of water it dispenses seems appropriate. Not too wet. I walked on it in my stocking feet and it was not really enough water to make my feet feel wet. I sat down and a few minutes later had forgotten about the damp sox I had on. I was comfortable putting my shoes on a few minutes later without changing my sox. It does leave parallel lines about every 1 inch. Not sure why but I gather that the mop head gets saturated by jets spaced about 1 inch apart. This results in lines that are wetter than the space between the jets. This means the lines dry last and leave dull lines that are from dirty water leaving behind solids. I used the mop and glo and the third use and it seems like the parallel lines are less prolific.
