Great system, works exactly as advertised
X-Sense hit a home run with this setup. Gives me a real-time alert on my phone if my smoke detectors, water sensor, or temperature sensors are triggered, even if I am not at home!Base station connected easily with my Wi-Fi and the listener/sensor connected easily to the base station. Listener is mounted on 2nd floor next to smoke detector and maintained excellent signal strength with the base station located on the 1st floor. I tested the listener with an actual beep test of the smoke detector and it worked flawlessly forwarding a push notification through the app to my phone alerting me immediately with an alert tone and message.I also purchased an X-Sense water sensor that works with this base station for use next to my sump pump that also connected easily to the base station, and has excellent signal strength from down in the basement. This sensor also tested flawlessly from its location in the basement. This system worked so well that I decided to purchase the temperature/humidity sensors that also work with this base station that I will use in my home, garage, and 2 freezers located in my garage. Real piece of mind to have immediate notification of triggered detectors even when you are not home.

Great alarm listener
I have a battery powered heat detector in the garage in case something happens with a vehicle. However, this is not interconnected with the rest of the house, so I wanted to find a way for a device to alert my phone should the alarm go off.I had used Alexa's Guard for this purpose, but it was an imperfect solution as it was across the garage and its detection of test alarms was spotty at best. The last straw was the recent email that the Guard's alarm listener function was going to a subscription model.I researched other options and the only other one I could find was a Ring listener which required a base and a subscription. Luckily I found this item. This is a very elegant solution as it's a one-time reasonable expense and works great. The phone app is downloaded and pairing them with the devices is extremely easy as they interconnect over the 2.4 Ghz Wifi network. The listener is installed within 6 inches of the alarm and detects it easily.Really happy with this solution which is no longer spotty nor does it require a subscription.

Amazing features in SBS50 base-that don't actually work
So it's pretty simple to add devices to the base unit. Problem is that the base unit doesn't update properly. You can remove the battery and it still says the smoke alarm is online ! What is the point of having a connected hub if it doesn't get true operational data?!This app and base unit totally do not work !UPDATE: Well it took 3 days to hear from customer service but they explained what was not explained in the manual. When you interconnect smoke alarms directly, they drop off the base unit, presumably because the 915 mhz rf signal is not available to the base unit. When you choose to connect to base unit (and not direct to other alarms) , The base unit does sound all alarms and tells you which one triggered. The other question was why the base unit doesn’t notify of battery loss when I pulled the 3 volt batt from the alarm. The base unit “checks in” only every 15 minutes to check that all devices are online and powered. That’s probably a power saving issue for the battery operated alarms. It notifies the app after 3 failed connections, so 45 minutes minimum. It works as described but the manual provides none of this info. I will raise my rating from 2 to 4 stars.

Peice of mind
I like this for the peice of mind I get.I'm not really sure why it needs to be 2 separate devices? A base station and the listener. The base station plugs in to house power and connects to wifi. The listener is set up near a smoke detector and is battery powered. The listener communicates with the base station when an alarm is heard. The base station sends an alert to my phone through the xsense app.Just the fact that I will know if my smoke detector is going off when I'm not home is a big thing for me. Hopefully I would be able to call fire department quicker than a neighbor when I'm not home. I feel like this is a must for my dogs that are home when I'm working.

One listener is faulty
The set came with 3 listeners, and one out of the 3 will not complete setup because it will not pass the test. Since I’ve set everything up, I do not want to have to return the whole set. No way to contact seller here. Reaching out to X-Sense doesn’t go anywhere, as they will direct you to Amazon. I would avoid purchasing on Amazon.

Works amazingly well.
I really love this concept and it works flawlessly. The setup is not difficult but not overtly easy either. Read and follow the directions one step at a time and you will be fine. Buy as many of the listeners as you need for your devices. Since all the listeners report the same message as the one that is activated, you will only need one in your bedroom area and the base can be located in a central location. The listeners easily differentiate between a CO and a smoke detector which is awesome.Pros The announcements are very clear as to the area of the alert.Cons The instructions are printed in a 3" X 3" book with tiny printing, and I could not find instructions for this device online. (Welcome to the 21st century)Also, the mist from a vaporizer can be misinterpreted as smoke so keep vaporizers on the other side of the room.Overall I am very happy with this purchase. Hope this helps.

House burned down
We had a family house burn down close to me where they lost everything. The report was they did not have smoke detectors in their home. I read the fire code and fitted my home to exceed the smoke detector requirements. The house that burned down, fire started in the attic. I have detectors in every room of my home including the attic and garage. Figured small price to pay for my family's protection.
