If it's in a place that allows this product to stand straight up, it should sit snug. If your car's 12v socket is pointing out towards you then you might have fitment issues and it might fall out while you drive. I don't know this for a fact, I'm just thinking it could potentially be an issue. I don't smoke so I can't tell you how well it functions as a lighter. I bought it because it's a hilarious addition to the car and a great conversation piece.
