Thanks** A: GRP isn't wood. If the source of the stain is external it can only be fine sanded out. There is a chance however that this is fixed into the finish doe to poor laminating skills. Acetone is the only thing that would clean right back down to the gel coat and not effect the body. If it's in the gel coat itself it's there for life. Btw have 30 years experience in grp **Q: I need to lighten some old fencing to use as wall cladding but keep the brilliant grain. Will this let me ?** A: Yes it will lighten wood leaving the natural grain... but be carefull, depending with what the wood was treated with previously can effect how this works.Personally i just invested in a belt sander. This product is abit messy and can be problematic if you do not prep your wood properly before applying. **Q: Would this lighten the reddish veneer plywood to a lighter colour more resembling pine?** A: Rustins Wood Bleach system should lighten the red shade veneer, but to what extent cannot be stated. In this regard a couple of tests on off-cuts to work out required exposure times should be carried out. **Q: Will this lighten very dark pine knots? I have sanded the previous varnished pine down to a pale colour but the knots are still very dark/red.** A: Wood Bleach will whiten a pine knot A BIT, but not completely, if you apply it to whole piece of sanded / smooth wood.
