Thank you all for the replies to the query submitted in the questions section.I want to add to this now that I have the product, perfectly delivered in good time, that it is an improvement on the original base for the salt lamp. It has the same dimensions and but it looks much smarter.A bulb has been included with the base which turns out to be essential, as the small bulbs that I had ready for it do not fit. There is an image in the picture of the bulb required, and further bulbs are available, at time of writing, on the same Amazon site.I am also impressed with the accompanying information which comes with the base ... and this is a huge help in understanding how to care for the lamp. I am very appreciative of the care that this company have put into supplying this product , and I applaud them. : )

Wooden Circle Base for Salt Crystal Lamp base and switchable power lead
Ideal replacement for original. However, these were purchased to sit salt globes upon as we just bought the globes a few years back. Have been looking for a suitble well constructed bases for ages.. We've found them now :-)

Makes my old salt lamp look even better than the original wooden base did. Looks exactly like photo. Wasn’t sure if price was worth it but I am very happy and will definitely buy from here again. It’s big enough for a large salt lamp too.

Very nice
used for a DIY project bedside table. Bulb is quite bright but good if I'm reading. Nice grain on the wood. Switch is convenient. Not sure what metal wings (?) are for. Stick thing holding the bulb is plastic. High quality overall
