It can take a little bit of force to take it apart, but it’s totally doable. Be warned though: mine arrived without enough connectors: they were 10 short. **Q: I would like to know if it is sturdy or made cheaply?** A: Keep in mind that it is plastic but it’s definitely good quality once you figure out how to put it together ... I bought it for my dad and he breaks everything and it’s lasted **Q: Are you able to combine two squares to make it a bigger box, so that would be 11 3/4" x2 making one big 23.5" section?** A: I build the 2 cubes as directed and then I cut the plastic out of the middle one for a bigger box with support needed in the middle. It took me several hours and one injury. The plastic hammer they give you does very little in the way of helping. It has a metal tip, but without any weight behind it, it's basically a plastic toy hammer. So you're stuck using your physical weight, which can lead to pain.Pros: Very sturdy. Looks nice. Totally worth the pain and effort to put it together. Would still recommend. All the parts were there. It's large and holds all of my yarn (I have a ton). Even though it's large, it's light and easy to move where you want it. I had not trouble lifting it on top of my dresser. You could use it to store many things, but the shelfs do bend a little when you have heavier items, so I wouldn't recommend anything too heavy. You can always test it out.Also, I knew what I was getting into, because I read the reviews and there were warnings about how difficult it could be to put together. It's not complicated.
