The blue, hydrophobic back provides a barrier against contamination. Zetuvit E absorbent compresses can be used for padding as well as for protecting wounds. Directions 1. Clean all removable parts with warm, soapy water (if applicable). 2. Place the dressing on the wound with the blue backing upper most, facing away from the wound. 3. He goes mental with a cone on so to ensure he couldn't get to wound we put these over wound inside his surgical suit. They are well made, of really good quality, absorbency is really good, lovely and large so you could cut smaller if you needed but we didn't as our dog is large. They'd also be brilliant for such as a human leg wound etc where you need a large dressing. They came well packed and each one is in a great sterile packet. Used on a leg ulcer. They were just what I needed **Q: How large are they?** A: While since I needed these but if I remember right overall basic size as described but with about a 1/ 1 1/2 cm flat hem all round so pad area about 17 to 18 cm square **Q: Are these pad contained in a plastic covering on one side and the other side paper** A: They are paper on both sides. One side has a joint seam which is clearly marked with a blue line. Use with seam on the out side. **Q: Can these be used to cover burns** A: This is for a wound that has fluids coming from it, and If you have any type of injury seek medical advice from a doctor or nurse and not the internet. Note I have bought stuff that was used on a previous same type of wound but it made it worsened to a point that am still getting treatment years later.
