This item is probably too expensive for what it does, but still I don't regret this purchase. It also could have benefited from some installation instructions in the package, at least just a small slip of paper with the install steps; I had to follow the instructions from the pictures on the item listing instead. I've included my own install steps and tips below.I'm not going to take any stars off this review for the price or lack of instructions. In the end, I bought this item because it claims to use a genuine Mercedes emblem from a supplier in Germany. It is rather expensive, but the metal mount and plastic emblem itself are really nice quality, and I'm happy with my purchase.Here's how to install (tools required: wrench/pliers and optional blanket):1) Remove the existing upright star - Pop and open the hood and drape the blanket over the hood and around the star. This is to prevent the star from scratching the hood if it comes loose - Use a wrench from under the hood and turn the star 90 degrees counter-clockwise. As soon as the star is loose, grab it from the top with your hand and wriggle it free2) Install the flat emblem kit - Take the blanket off the hood and lay it over the engine. This is to prevent any of the mounting pieces from falling inside the engine compartment, as you will have a heck of a time retrieving them if that happens - Insert the round metal mounting bracket from the top of the hood, with the mounting holes aligned from front to back of the car - Attach the flat bracket from underneath, aligned left to right, and hold it in place - Attach the washer and nut from underneath and tighten finger tight - Insert the rubber grommets from the top into the holes in the round bracket - Push the plastic emblem into the grommets from the top - Align the star to your liking and hold it firmly in place while tightening the nut from underneath
