Example a meeting room with about 20 people?** A: Set the microphone sensitivity to maximum and this recorder is eminently capable of making a good recording in which the most distant speaker can be clearly heard. Also, even with under-recorded material, (even whispers) the free audio software AUDACITY (downloaded separately) can easily / quickly ENHANCE the volume to reveal material. **Q: Can this be voice activated?** A: I'm 99% sure that it cannot be voice activated unless I didn't see the settings for it.Also, you would think that they would advertise with that kind of functionality... **Q: How long can you record for and does it make a sound when it stops** A: I'll answer in two parts:- 1) How much time is left depends entirely on how much memory you have left. You start off with 8GB, and you can purchase an additional Micro SD card of up to 32GB; you cannot use both tracks of memory - you must switch from one to the other. 2) I think it gives warning sounds a minute or more before it will stop recording.
