Note the lock DoorSense state does not get transmitted thru the zwave interface **Q: Can this be used outdoor like on a gate?** A: No, only the external-facing keypad is suitable for outdoor use. The larger part of the lock unit where the batteries are held, and which has the twist lever, is only intended for indoor use and is not weather-resistant. **Q: How do you open the no-key version lock if the battery has died?** A: The instructions say for no key, you need to have another way into the house. So I have a no key on the front and also a conventional lock on a side door **Q: Do you need a hub or module to have remove access to the lock?** A: In my experience, without the z-wave or wifi module the lock will only support remote access Bluetooth. Bluetooth via the Yale app and/or Apple home kit works as the interface. Hub wise, without a z-wave or wifi module ... is a little more tricky to answer... as generally a hub would typically support z-wave or wifi. However, I believe it's possible to control it indirectly via homekit over Bluetooth with a AppleTV functioning as a hub.
