Will you have to sharpen it?** A: The cutting mechanism is similar to a regular can-opener. It will last a long time. **Q: Can you still recycle the cans?** A: If you have a deposit on each can then I just wouldn't crush them. The bottle/can returns like in NY use the barcode to determine whether it is eligible for redemption. But if it's based in weight for recycling then it wouldn't matter. **Q: Are the cans still recycleable in states with deposits and can returns?** A: The California rule states "One of the requirements for a container to be eligible for CRV payment is that the container is labeled with the CRV message. ". I would assume that you would have to retain the caps and put them into the empty cans. If you are getting a refund based on weight you would want to anyway since that is probably a large portion of the weight. **Q: Will this work on old tin beer cans?** A: Probably not, but you probably shouldn’t be trying to open them anyway. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/521736710-draft-top-the-lift-can-opener-as-seen-on-shark](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/521736710-draft-top-the-lift-can-opener-as-seen-on-shark) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
