They crumble easily and are absorbed into cooking liquid, and they have a refreshing taste. I like a cup of broth early in the morning as a quick pick me up, and I really like this added to soup. It also makes a good gravy in an emergency. Initially I thought six jars was more than I would need or use, but they go quickly because there are always things you can add them to. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I am especially pleased that I found a really great product that won’t make me sick and cranky. I’m sure my family is even more appreciative of that aspect! This is a great line of products. They also make gravy cubes that, sadly, are not gluten free, but all the bouillion cubes can easily make a gravy. Next on my list, chicken and beef bouillion. But they have become hard to find and are very expensive to order from BOU. The cubes contain lemongrass and are delightful.The only BOU products in the stores are "gravy cubes" that contain gluten. I searched three local grocery stores in one day only to find that the product was not available or that they stocked the gravy products. I had to buy 6 jars, but now I don't have to ration my use out of fear of not being able to find the product locally. I only recommend the chicken flavor. The beef flavor tastes terrible.
