Review: Cozy Nights Made Easy with Dual Controls - This electric underblanket is really good — it takes a little while to warm up, but once it does, it puts out plenty of heat. I love that it’s dual control, so my partner can have theirs on while I leave mine off, or vice versa. It’s a really practical feature that makes sharing a bed much more comfortable. The controls are easy to use, and it’s great that there’s an “off” button on either side, so you can switch it off easily in the dark. My only minor gripe is that it’s not immediately obvious which side is low and which is high, so it can take a moment to figure out in low light. It also requires being plugged in on both sides — not a problem for us, but something to be aware of depending on your bed setup. Overall, it’s well-made, effective, and comfortable. Definitely a cozy addition for colder nights, especially if you like controlling your own side of the bed.

I guess that some of the more fancy electronically controlled ones might have a timer feature built in but I'm not sure how easy it would be to use them with a smart plug as when not sure if they will turn on when you power them up without you physically pressing a button the the controls. Since we've already invested in smart plugs etc. around our home it means we can get this functionality more easily. Thanks to this blanket we've been able to keep the temperature lower in our bedroom knowing that we are guaranteed a nice warm bed when we're ready to get in and I would definitely recommend it.

**Q: what side is the control on**
A: It doesn't matter since the blanket can be put on either way. I have the single blanket placed across the bottom of my bed purely to heat the part where my feet go.
I always turn down my quilt, folding it into 3 (age old habit from my days working in elder care), the heat from the blanket permeates all layers of the quilt, consequently, my feet are nice and toasty, the mid third of the quilt is quite warm and the top third is warm enough to snuggle into.

**Q: What is the size of the kingsize please?**
A: Despite answers to the contrary, which are wrong, the Kingsize is 137cm x 165cm (54" x 65") as I'm standing with one in Tesco right now !

**Q: what are the dimenesions of the item**
A: My single blanket is 53 inches x 25 inches (135cm x 65cm)

**Q: Is this an over blanket?**
A: no the blanket is just an under blanket

This electric underblanket is really good — it takes a little while to warm up, but once it does, it puts out plenty of heat. I’ve had this Silentnight Dual Control Electric Blanket for around three weeks now and it’s honestly amazing. It heats up quickly and feels like being hugged by a big warm bear when you get into bed. The dual control feature is a great touch, letting each side choose their own heat level which saves a lot of arguments on chilly nights. The heat is evenly spread and the blanket itself feels soft and comfortable to lie on. My only small suggestions for improvement would be a better strap system to keep it firmly in place, as the elastic ones can let it bunch up a little, and a timer function would be handy for overnight use. Overall it’s a brilliant product that makes a real difference on cold evenings. If you want a reliable, cosy, and easy-to-use electric blanket, this one won’t disappoint.
