AC/DC have released a number of great concert videos over the years and out of all of them, I think No Bull: The Directors Cut has to be my favourite. People will always gravitate towards the old Donington show (which is great) or the more recent, Live At River Plate. But by comparison, not only does it have some rarities from the Hard As a Rock album, the band are still highly energetic and are extremely well rehearsed. The latter especially sounds quite sluggish by comparison to this one, no surprise considering the time gap between the two and the problems the band were facing at the time. When I talk of rarities, I'm talking about fantastic tracks like Hail Caeser, Ballbreaker and Boogie Man. These tracks sound fantastic here and making it a crying shame the band don't play them anymore. The set is of course rounded off with more well known tracks like the opener, Back In Black, Thunderstruck, Shoot to Thrill and Whole Lotta Rosie. It's twenty tracks in total, sitting at two hours in length. The actual quality of this bluray release is pretty good. The surround sound track is very well done. It gives a nice bit of separation to the guitars and keeps the rhythm section firmly in the middle. It's great having your head between the two Young brothers guitars as they crank out such a performance. It's a huge improvement on the likes of River Plate which for whatever reason, it focused on having the crowd in the back channels instead of providing us with some juicy guitars. I hate it when bands do that and thankfully, you won't find that horrid trend here. The music is up front in every speaker, as it should be.The visual quality is rather nice. Being filmed on 16mm, it's never going to look as crystal clear as other concerts. There's a good bit of grain at times but it has still been cleaned up rather well for the high definition format. The actual direction of the film is great. It doesn't solely focus on Angus and Brian, unlike River Plate. We see all the band members in all their glory with a lot of close ups and plenty of wide shots of the stage. There's no intense cuts and no added visual effects. It's very well done and is a lot easier on the eye than a lot of more modern concert films.I'll go out with having an unpopular opinion that No Bull: The Directors Cut is the perfect concert film for AC/DC fans. It is a little on the expensive side but fans will appreciate it despite that. It's the only one that balances a quality director, high production standards with a great performance. Donington has a hyperactive Chris Slade (who never fit the band), Stiff Upper Lip Live (which IS great) never made it to bluray and River Plate is sluggish with terrible sound. Check it out, you won't regret it.

The band are incredibly tight during this performance. From the moment they walk out on stage and they break straight into opener Back In Black, you know they mean business. No messing around here! If you love Ballbreaker era, you're gonna love this gig.The venue really suits the band, an intimate bull fighting Coliseum. Doesn't get much better than this!

A very good music DVD and is a very good watch and nobody would be disapointed if they bought it the track listing is great but the editing isn't as good as on the other AC/DC dvd's if I was to choose between them Live at river plate is probably the best one.
