Not like those big Thomas the train sets, 6 foot long, that once you put up have to stay up. Or like the chuggington sets that my husband had to put together because there's no way a kid could do it. this set has just the right amount of fun extras, noises, moving parts, while maintaining the fact that half the fun for a kid is building it one way today and a different way tomorrow, or laying all the tracks down the hall because he wants to. And it's easy to take a part and put away. no adult intervention needed. The train moves by remote AND can be played with without it!!! And all those cheap extra train track sets here on amazon, fit it.
