It doesn't have to be that brand of actual pen as they also do a stand alone cartridge. Actually, thinking about it, Rite in the rain do one of their own, search for "Rite in the rain pen" and you'll find a few variations. For short term use these should be fine, but if I remember right they do have a disclaimer saying the paper will degrade over time in constant wet, but otherwise you should be fine.
