I received mine yesterday and the patterns are very messy, patchy and out of line (a bit beyond shabby chic).** A: No, that’s the pattern. **Q: Are these safe to go into the oven?** A: I wouln't put mine in the over. They seem to fragile to go in the over. **Q: are they heavy like denby or much lighter and easier to carry?** A: They are heavy just like denby. Well made but chunky and the tin on base is tough do beware of scratching a table top. They are nice and bright perfect for Italian pasta dishes. Yes there are irregularities on them but I believe that’s the way they are meant to be and I think they’re gorgeous. If you have any form of ocd you will not like these the pattern is uneven and irregular. I think they look funky and lovely and colourful. There was one plate with a raised piece in middle which might eventually chip off we shall wait and see. I am going ahead to order the cereal bowls and will continue until I have the collection. I needed to replace a lot of crockery and these will look lovely in my kitchen.
