The player actually creates a mp3 file of the cassette you are playing on the flash drive. You just press the conversion and play buttons to begin the process. You can then insert your finished mp3 flash drive into your computer, copy the mp3 over to your desktop and rename, and play with iTunes just by double clicking the mp3 file. I just copy the mp3 flash drive file/files on to my computer to accomplish this. I’m sure Windows Media player plays mp3 files as well as iTunes. I’m using Windows 10. You can also just use the player as a cassette tape player as well with earphones if you wanted to. The mp3 sound quality is good, but I do notice a slight ‘ticking’ noise when listening to the mp3’s I have created. It happens on all of my tape conversions. I have and am using the converter for our son’s old children’s tapes now for our grandchildren to listen to. The player will convert one side at a time or you can set the player to play and convert both sides. There is no auto-shut-off, so when you finish your one or two sided conversion, be there to stop the process, as conversion of nothing playing will continue on your flash drive mp3 recording just increasing the mp3 size. I purchased it to copy cassettes to MP3 and it failed on the two different cassettes that I attempted to convert.
