The gateway connects to a wifi access point. It can have an alternate WiFi network added. I have not done this, but it's possible that the alternate network could connect to a different access point on the same network. Not sure why you need this -- the gateway must be located within bluetooth range of the valve -- I don't know the limit -- mine is 20' away.
