We love these collars. We have a 120 lb female cane corso rescue and 110 lb golden retriever, Husky & German Shepherd rescue. They are active, crazy and rambunctious... and very rough on collars.We also live in Cascade Foothills in Pacific Northwest, so these collars see daily rain 9 months of the years with occasional snow in winter and triple digits in summer. They hike and even swim with these collars on.I should say our beasts, who can soar over couches in one leap, are very rough on collars. Their favorite activity is to grab the other by their collar and shake. Other collars had failed. Our CC also has skin issues and allergies and is a puller with no recall, so we needed thick, but soft and natural materials that give us peace of mind to container our beastieSo we bought them these collars in November 2020, two years ago. They have and are still comfy and secure. We do not use them for walks, but more to hold or pull them back. They wear them 18 hrs a day, only taken off at night.As some suggested in previous reviews, we used mink oil/saddle soap to protect them from water and cracking. I did it religiously every few weeks the first year and they looked good as new. I did stop oiling the second year, and the pink collar only started to rub and look less nice. The pink finish is not as durable as the brown. It is still perfectly serviceable and only cosmetic.We still decided to replace, so she looks cute as our puppy princess. The brown collar is still holding strong. On the inside, I showed pics of some gouging. That was not normal wear and tear. It's from our CC grabbing him by the collar and shaking as they play. It is still serviceable and strong even as metal tags have been shorn by their rough housing. We actually decided not to replace his brown collar because it still works and the cosmetic issues are on the inside of the collar.Some failings: I would not trust the small loop by buckle to hold tags. Our pink collar lost that loop pretty early on. We put our tags on the strong loop at the back of their neck, opposite the buckle.We also can attest to strength during walk since we use a gentle leader for our boy and prong collar for our girl since they are intense pullers, despite training. Still holding them back by collars, they still are.solid.They also do not stink like our old collars with man made materials.I highly recommend! She passed away at 16 years old, and it was buried with her, she loved the soft leather, worn but still a pretty soft pink. We just bought a new one for our new Rottweiler, and it's shiny and new, like our girl! Top quality leather, haven't found any nicer, for any price. Our search started at a local pet store, where most of the wide collars looked like they were designed for guard dogs--which our Lily certainly is not (cuddles are her favorite activity). We settled on the one option we could find that did not look like it was meant for a dog that was going to take a piece out of your leg--a webbed canvas collar with a plastic buckle in a pretty print. That lasted for a few months, because sweet though she may be, she is also strong, and when it comes to squirrels, she is more prone to chase than to cuddle. You guessed it--the buckle broke. So in searching for a replacement, we decided to go online (which sometimes I hesitate to do for products like this, because it helps to touch and feel the quality). Based on positive reviews, we went with this collar, and it was the perfect choice. Cost-wise, it was not much more than the canvas collar that didn't hole up, but the quality feel makes me believe this collar will be with us for a long time. I love the thick padding, because it's easier on her neck when she goes squirrel-chasing and pulls us around the yard. There is also a small metal loop on one side of the collar for tags--you can't really see it in the product photos, but it is a nice touch, because the tags don't jangle against the buckle. They did with her old collar and she ended up chewing on the tag because of it. The way her tag hangs on this loop, she never messes with it. I also love the color with her light brindle coat--it is very true to what is pictured.
