Very good quality, its thick (makes for comfort and durability) but not hard. Nice handle great item for the purpose would also make a great standard lead, good length I always have it across both hands for better control and allowing slack untill we get off the streets.I have had it a few months now and there has been some minor fraying or discolouration from the metal ring rubbing on the lead (from the initial strain when dog was still pulling like mad) but shes not pulling so safe to say its not a problem. Just a mention for anyone with a big dog.
