Great kettle
We have used this Which? recommended kettle for several years. You can boil a small quantity of water and it's very fast. It's fairly quiet and the kettle itself is very light. This may be useful if you don't have a lot of strength for one reason or another. The first one we had lasted several years and we liked it so much that we bought another one to replace it.

Capable kettle
I bought this kettle over two and a half years ago and it is still going strong now after being used several times per day every day since purchase. It seems that most (or possibly all) Russell Hobbs kettles are 3000W, so you can probably shop around for something a little more energy efficient, but for something that works extremely well, lasts a decent length of time, has good ergonomic design and looks alright then this one is hard to beat. If you fill the kettle almost to the top, it does take a little while to boil as you would expect, but if just boiling enough water to make two or three cups of tea then it boils quickly. The water pours out of the spout easily and quickly without being prone to spilling everywhere.I really can't find any fault with this kettle and would recommend.

Good news and not so good news
This is a great attractive modern kitchen kettle that sits well in a kitchen if you want a red traditional looking electric kettle. The one big thing I like about it is that it has markers inside so that you can fill it only for one or two cups of water for boiling. Important in these energy conscious days. If you boil a small amount it claims it can do it in 45 seconds, but I have found it to be just a little longer. The not so good news was the choice by the suppliers, Electrical Emporium, to use Evri as their carrier. They used third party carriers, and this is not available from them via Amazon Prime. Despite the constant tracking information saying it was going to arrive on Friday, it was tossed over my garden fence in a rain storm by the carriers a day earlier when I was out. Despite being well wrapped, the water penetrated the packaging and if it had been a present it would have had to be replaced. Evri also lied on their delivery notification saying it had been left somewhere seemingly safer. I am reluctant to use any retailer (I will stick to amazon lockers) that uses Evri as they are consistently the worst courier in the country, in my experience. To the seller's credit, after an on line exchange, Electrical Emporium have offered a small discount on the price as recompense for my bad experience. This was the right thing to do, but I am minded to only use proper prime deliveries to lockers when I can

Nice Kettle - bit on the noisy side
So I purchased this kettle after reading and weighing up a lot of reviews. Which I think almost all customers do before purchasing. I bought this to replace a cheap plastic kettle which has given 3 or 4 years of good service but was showing it's age and didn't go with the toaster. Some of the reviews mentioned this kettle was quite noisy but others said it was quiet. For me it's a bit more noisy than my previous kettle but I believe that this is because the Russel Hobbs one is metal and my old one plastic as I've mentioned. But it's not so noisy that it would put me off buying it again. It's quite solid and feels good to use so I'm happy to recommend it.
