## Description

Avoid tricky blind spots when passing or changing lanes with CIPA’s 3” X 3” wedge convex HotSpot mirror. Easily mounts to original factory mirror featuring convenient stick-on mounting. HotSpot mirrors may be placed anywhere you wish but are typically placed on the bottom outside corner of the original mirror. The desired placement varies from person to person. To find the placement that is right for you, start by placing a piece of folded tape on the back of the HotSpot and sticking it onto your OE mirror where you think you might want it. Then sit in your car and look through the HotSpot. Keep adjusting the placement until it suits your needs. Finally, remove the folded tape, peel the adhesive backing tape off the HotSpot and apply it permanently. Expand your Horizons

Review: Inexpensive, easy, great mirror quality, and works great - SEE MY PHOTOS OF THIS PRODUCT captioned "at the stoplight" for the 3x3 and 2x2 corner wedge stick on mirrors in the images for this product Bought several different versions of these CIPA mirrors and held them up to my mirrors to determine which I thought would work best. I have a 2000 Nissan Xterra which is a mid-size SUV with mid-size mirrors, slightly smaller than most full-size truck mirrors, but larger than most passenger car mirrors. The CIPA corner wedge stick-on's seemed to be the best. Also, I was a little skeptical that a plastic mirror could have good clarity since I'd seen some cheap plastic ones in auto stores with grainy or warped reflections. Not so with these mirrors - very clear, crisp visible images - nice! I placed them as recommended by the packaging on the lower outside corners of each mirror (another user photo shows them in a different location, but I suppose it's preference). The recommended location fully reflects the blind spots on my truck (no more head twisting), while leaving plenty of space to look through the regular portion of my mirror for backing up or general use. I put the 3x3 size on the passenger side I *SHOULD* have put the 3x3 size on the driver side as well, but used the 2x2 as recommended by another user For me the 2x2 was a mistake because it tends to make the cars look smaller, and you're inclined to think they're farther away, when they're really in the danger zone. I *SHOULD* have used the 3x3. This is a risk even with the 3x3 on the passenger side, so you need to practice a bit calibrating your eye/brain. Once you get used to the idea that if you see *any* vehicle at all in these, that it's not safe to change lanes, then you'll have these (and any other blind spot mirrors) dialed in. Since they all have that same "fisheye" curve effect which allows you to see the blind spot but means things will look smaller, and you can be fooled into thinking further away. On the *PLUS* side, the stick on tape is *VERY SECURE*. I tried to remove the driver's side 2x2 to replace with the 3x3, but I was pulling so hard, I thought I'd break my mirror, so I just left the 2x2 on the driver's side.
Review: Excellent, but position carefully - This is excellent for covering the blind spots. I tried the smaller (2x2 inch) ones also, but it's too difficult to see anything on the smaller ones. This for me is a perfect size (on a Lexus GX 460). It let's you see everything from the blind spots down to what's near my tires (pets, children, curbs) on both sides of your SUV, so it's very useful when you are parking the car as well. It does cover up a large area on your side mirrors (between 1/4 and 1/5), but I find that I don't really need the flat side mirrors anymore; I can see everything I need to on these convex mirrors. I also tried the circular ones; problem with those is that they reflect the sun (!!) all the time in to your eyes. All you need is a quadrant of a circle in a convex mirror like this to cut out the reflection of the sun and your own car. Follow the manufacturer's written placement guideline (lower, outside corner); however, do not place too close to or on the edges because it can interfere with your car's power mirrors and you won't be able to angle your mirror to a desired position; check the range of movement of your power mirrors in relation to their enclosures before sticking these on.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are there any problems with using these on heated mirrors?**
A: My guess would be no! I don't think the heat generated by a mirror heater will melt the adhesive holding the wedge in place. These little mirrors certainly do work well.

**Q: i want to buy this for my husbands 2014 ram 1500 what is the best size 2" or 3" for his truck?**
A: Thanks for asking me to answer you, Myself I am mechanical engineer, with best of knowledge and experience I suggest you 3" for trcuks, technically blind spot mirrors should occupy more than 11% of whole side mirrors. i would suggest 3" or more than that.

**Q: Is it the same they sell at Walmart for $1.96 ? Looks same to me...**
A: Yeah, very common brand, Auto Zone too has them, price here has that free ship at $35 most likely built in. Seen products on that free ship stuff at $35 over MSRP. Basically you paying shipping hidden in each item. Rather bad if you nickel and dime your way to $35.

**Q: is this made out of glass?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Holds up for years and once you get used to those, they are a really great convenience.
*by J***O on July 26, 2020*

Just bought a new set for my new car. Had them on the old car for 7 years and no issues with falling off or anything. Really a great convenience once you get used to it. You might not like it at first, but once you get used to using them, you will be wondering why only some cars come with those from the factory. All cars should have those - it totally eliminates blind-spots and makes it so much easier on your neck - no head turning. Besides in many newer SUVs you can't even see that well even if you are turning your head all the way. Installation note: the correct way to put it on it on the mirror is with the rounded corner farthest away from the window on that side of the car and with the rounded corner at the bottom. (The review titled "The best" shows photos of the right way to put it on.) That way you can see what's next to the car while backing out. Kind of like the more expensive cars do when they tilt mirrors when in reverse. Except this one still shows you everything else. NOTE: I did use rubbing alcohol to clean the spot on the mirror where it would go - that way it lasted for many years while I had the car. Also you CANNOT reposition it once you stick it on. So be sure to put it on right the first time. Dry fit before removing the film from the sticky pad.
