Good luck! **Q: Can I sit or stand on this?** A: Dunno what it's maximum "seating capacity" might be, but at ~ 150-160 lbs. I can sit on it without it feeling insecure. As for standing on it, though, I wouldn't except in a pinch, and then only very carefully, and briefly. If you keep your feet along the outer edges where the sides of the cooler would support them, I think you'd be OK for as much as, say, a full minute, but the lid is relatively thin and fits into a "frame" around the interior of the top rather than closing *over* the tops of the sides, as the lids on many other coolers do, so the lid itself isn't very well supported. I think there's a good chance anyone heavier than a fairly small child would break it (and possibly an ankle, if they didn't manage to jump off before the lids caves in) if they kept their feet toward the middle and tried to stay up on it very long... **Q: Does everyone else's lids reverse to the tray and cup holder? Mines seems to be firmly hinged to the cooler box!** A: The lid had cup holders built into the underside in the 1970s & 1980s. The lid hasn't been removeable since the 1990s when they moved the handle. At one time there was also a removable vented silo to keep a two litter bottle upright. I have an Anova Precision Bluetooth cooker and the new Wifi model (both are the same size), and these fit clamped to the front. I cut out a notch in the top panel so it can close to reduce evaporation on longer cooks. I used my Dremel to cut the lid, which got a bit messy, but it took less than 5 minutes to cut. Depending on how much food you're cooking, the Anova requires about 12 quarts of water to fill the cooler and be above the minimum water level line on the cooker. I usually cook 4-8 lbs of meat in 12 quarts of water, sometimes I need to use less water. The tall design of this cooler allows gallon size Waring bags to fit below the waterline with ease. Other containers, such as the 4.75 gallon Cambro and 12 quart Rubbermaid require folding the bags in half in order to be completely submerged below the waterline. I have another one of these coolers that I use for 2 day trips out of town. Paired with the Rubbermaid Blue Ice 7" x 1.63" x 6.75" packs, I was able to keep 3 meals cold from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.
