I have found this to be true for the last 40 years if the eye of the needle is to be thread front to back. I have not met a Singer machine that does not thread front to back and that does not have the flat side of the top of the needle set in place to the back side of the machine. **Q: Will this work for Babylock Presto ll** A: These are the industry standard needles.
