Having read the manual that covers both, the biggest difference is that with the 8 the programs are more automated. The 6 requires you to manually adjust the intensities during the program, with the 8 it is all done automatically. The adjustment on the 6 is done from prompts on the screen "adjust intensity to your maximum" the problem is there is no suggested maximum and it appears to be based on your discomfort threshold (I could be missing something). The adjustments are made by the unit with the 8, and I assume it is more scientifically based. Other than that, no major differences, the 8 has a few more programs (look on the complex site to see if you need them) **Q: Difference between fit 5.0 & sp 6.0?seem to be similar apart from one is black & other blue?Need to regain quad muscle strength due to muscle wastage** A: Sp has much more programs from fit. Might this machine help?** A: Hello, We cant advise the use of electrical stimulators or Tens machines on numb areas. Unfortunately, there is no evidence that these machines improve sensation. They are designed to stimulate muscle contraction and/ or provide pain relief.
