This rating is how a Cap stores & releases a charge (the definition of capacitance is the ability to store a charge). So, dV/dt is "delta Voltage over delta time". Delta means "the change in". The forward slash is read a lot of different ways, but they all mean the same thing. It could be divided by or 'over' or per. The change in Voltage divided by the change in time. In capacitance that's going to look something like 20V/mS (20Volts per millisecond). I just made up the number. I have no idea how fast these guy do their thing. I'm mostly concerned with how they sound in my guitar. I usually remove the tone controls anyway & just have a volume control & if I'm using a humbucker, I wire in a coil tap/splitter. I think I bought these to replace the 10 cent caps that Gibson put in my $4000 Les Paul. I swapped out both pickups for a pair of over wound humbuckers, put in 2 500kΩ push/push pots as volume pots to replace those ridiculous push/pull pots & one these big ol' orange gumballs for tone on each pickup. I left the original 500kΩ tone pots in there, but if I had it to do over (& I still may), I would swap out the 500kΩ tone pots for 250kΩ pots. They seem to work for me. Oh darn. I should have started this as "Four Score and seven years ago...." or "I was born in a log cabin..." Sorry for ramblin. I hope in the 20,000 words here, there's something that answers your question & maybe provides a little better understanding for what you want to use these for & maybe some encouragement. It's just WAY too expensive to have somebody else work on your guitar.
