It somehow got covered in a slick coat of oil that polluted the pond where the duck had been found. Luckily I used to wash the dog bowls, and we used DAWN. I knew it cut through grease. DAWN had been on the market for only a few years but the ads on TV claimed it cut grease. I knew it did. So rather than put the duck down, the nice vets said, "sure, give it a shot." I gave that duck a bunch of baths in DAWN and was overjoyed when we let the duck go, all clean, a couple of days later. It flew off like nothing happened. So I've been a fan of DAWN ever since, and it's just as good today as it was in 1978, in my opinion. Nowadays I live on a shore, so I always keep an eye out for waterfowl who might need a bath. If I find any I'll give them a bath in DAWN. I would recommend either vinegar and water solution or Windex for windows. However, Dawn does work well on bathtubs! Squirt Dawn all over your bathtub, then take an old broom and scrub. Leave on overnight and rinse well the next morning. Your tub will be squeaky clean!! I have also used it on my bathroom sink. **Q: dawn ultra gentle clean selling 20oz for $17.99? is it only one bottle or more of 20oz for $17.99?** A: only 1 bottle, don't order it, price gouging! you can get it at the dollar store for $3.50! I use it to scrub down my kitchen sink and counters with one of those green scrubby things from Scotch, I use it with a non-abrasive cleaning rag on my cabinets and fridge and stove and microwave, I use it to clean my patio furniture, my decks, my brick patio floors. I use it as shampoo for my dogs and for me. It's an excellent soak before a pedicure, and makes for an excellent cleaner on the exterior side of my windows. A squirt in the laundry with our running shoes makes a difference. If your oven is relatively clean, a slather of Dawn once a week will keep it looking good. It's our hand soap refill in all our bathrooms and works great as a shower gel.
