    Fascinating animation

*by J***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2014*

After introducing my grandchildren to the joys of the animation Kirikou, also by Michel Ocelot, I thought we would try this one also. Our 12 year old granddaughter enjoyed it while the 9 year old is mesmerised by it. No matter this movie is only available in French or Korean, The English subtitles are easily followed. By chance we selected the Korean version and it is very dramatically read. No matter we don't understand the language, it just sounds great and the youngsters are able to follow the plot easily with the subtitles. I firmly believe in introducing children to foreign language films anyway and this one is perfect. The silhouette style of animation is quite unique and entertaining, while the painted backgrounds are superb. Recommended for parents, Grandparents and children alike- perfect family viewing. Delivered promptly by Amazon, early the next evening after ordering. Top quality service.

One of the most beautiful animation films I have ever seen

*by F***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 May 2011*

I stumbled upon 'Princes et Princesses' on Youtube once and fell in love with its exquisite silhouettes, superb stories and extraordinarily meticulous 'mise en scène'. My 5 year old son knows the film by heart at this stage and I am always thrilled to watch it with him. A truly beautiful film that every child should own, essential for a classical visual, aesthetic and narrative education.
