The water level indicator is designed as a sight glass, so the water level can be controlled at any time during operation. The boiler capacity is 135 cm³ with a boiler size of 100 x 45 mm. The flywheel of this machine with its diameter of 70 mm ensures smooth running. The screwed dome steam pipe can be operated at any time during operation via a special lever. Their lovely sound is a little reminiscent of Emma, the locomotive from "Jim Knopf and Lukas the Engine Driver". When installing the lever for the steam pipe of your D6, please make sure that the lever is made of black heat-resistant plastic facing outwards, so you can operate the lever during operation without touching the kettle. Avery fun thing to build and use Review: Enjoyed building this, but not all plain sailing - As a recently retired person catching up on the things I couldn't afford when younger, I really enjoyed building this kit. The base and "superstructure" are made of lighter gauge metal than perhaps you would expect with 'Steam-Engine-engineering', but its adequate for the job. The instructions are not perfect or optimised/refined, so you have to think a bit. As others have said, parts of the build are quite fiddly, namely fitting the really small bolts - but once I'd worked out that the screwdriver provided was strongly magnetic, I found you could use it to pick and place the bolts into the not very accessible holes where your fingers let you down. The manufacturers quality control failed with one crucial part which had to be screwed on to the threaded end of the flywheel spindle - the part ( in my kit ) did not have the corresponding thread machined into it, just had a plain hole. I was able to thread the hole using an old engineers trick of cutting vertical grooves down the sides of a couple of spare bolts (of the right size ) to make improvised thread-cutters. It was an interesting diversion for half an hour, but I accept this would be an absolute "killer" fault for many, which would have stopped them getting any further making the kit non-viable - so manufacturer - Take Note! Once it's hot how long does it take to cool down? How long will it run on one fuel cube? Thank you!** A: You will need about 3 fuel tablets to run the engine; running time varies. It gets quite hot, so at least as long as a stove to cool off. How long to get it started? Fired with the water boiling? a few minutes. Or do you mean time to put the kit together - that depends on your kit building skills. It is a beginner kit. **Q: Does the smoke stack work or is it display** A: The smoke stack at the D5/D6 is not working. real smoke comes out of the smoke stack at the D9/D10 or bigger items. **Q: Does it come with the fire cubes** A: I m not sure if they do. When I was a kid and I ran out of the cubes I packed cotton balls in the tray. Might hold 2 balls and then poured a little alcohol on the cotton, doesn’t take a lot. The alcohol burns and the cotton doesn’ t. Works good **Q: What is the nation of origin?
