But last time I used the dishwasher the mesh filter had some residue of particulate dishwasher grime. **Q: is the cup provided?** A: NO. It is as per the picture. Overall, I find this tea maker very effective for leaf tea. I use quite a strong black tea and it does stain the inside. Soaking in a light bleach and rinsing well seems to remove most of the stain. I would be happy recommending this product **Q: Any good for ground coffee?** A: I haven't tried but I don't think it will work. The coffee will probably block the mesh and by the time the water drips down, it will be cold.
