As such, they can be inserted between bottles and tupperware boxes to give maximum and even cooling. I use them in our Thermos 30l cool bag where they fit perfectly. They take about 3 hours to freeze solid in a domestic freezer. They do swell a bit in the process - but that's normal for blocks of this type. They are relatively lightweight but seem to be very effective. In a well stocked cool bag, they easily last for 6+ hours - even in a high ambient temperature (but don't leave the cool bag directly in the sun!).
