Himalayan Dog Chews are made by boiling yak and cow milk and then dried for several weeks to create a hard chew. Dogs must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small parts of it can be slowly scraped off. It is 100-percent natural with no preservatives. It is an authentic type of cheese eaten by the people of the Himalayas. When you give this Himalayan Dog Chew to your dog, you know that you are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment. Glad to see my doggy isn’t the only piggy. My Golden Retriever/Labrador mix devoured half of it within minutes! I took it away, because I didn’t want him eating too much and possibly having a tummy upset. He was totally fine and hasn’t had the other half yet. Maybe this is a treat meant for smaller dogs? Either way, the doggies LOVE it. **Q: When there's a small end left has anyone tried to microwave it, like the pkg recommends?** A: Yes I have watched my son do it! Friendly FYI: it is very hot when getting out of microwave!! It puffs up like a pork rind, but needs to be cooled for at least 30 minutes. My granddog loves it!! **Q: my dogs have a special container where I keep a variety of chews they are working on. There are a couple of times a day they pick one to chew for 30-45 minutes. How long are the Himalyan chews good before throwing them out if not finished? They never make a mess, Do people warm them? I just read about the puff balls. A…** A: Rebecca, I have a doxy 11 mos. old, and she only gets her Yak bones once a day, only for 15-20 mins. She has a very strong jaw, and I have had to change to a medium bone for her. I tried to heat the bones after they get to be 1 1/2" in size, but she just doesn't seem to want them that way. So I ditch them. I keep her "chewed" bones in an open container, so they dry out each day. I also make her stay near me while she chews, as I want to watch her and make sure she doesn't get anything caught in her throat. They stay good for along time, but one of them had a black mark inside it I noticed. When she got down to it, I took it away and tossed it. I do not know what it was, but I didn't like it. Hope that helps you. **Q: is this made in the USA?** A: I found this information on the website, www.HimalayanDogChew.com "We purchase direclty from the farmers, and help them make that extra money in one year, that they would have been able to make in five years by selling the chews. As of November 2011, there are over about 900 farmers (family) who make these chews for the Himalayan Dog Chew brand." It appears they are made in Nepal by farmers and only packaged by the brand in Washington ## Frequently Bought Together - Himalayan Dog Chew Original Yak Cheese Chew, 1 Large Stick, 3.3 oz, Gluten Free, Healthy Treats, Grain & Lactose Free 100% Natural, Long Lasting for Dogs Under 55 lbs - Himalayan Dog Chew Original Yak Cheese Chew, 1 Medium Stick, 2.3 oz, Gluten Free, Healthy Treats, Grain & Lactose Free 100% Natural, Long Lasting, for Dogs Under 35 lbs - Himalayan Dog Chew Original Yak Cheese Chew, 3 Small Sticks, 1.1 oz, Gluten Free, Healthy Treats, Grain & Lactose Free 100% Natural, Long Lasting for Dogs Under 15 lbs --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/492273033-treats-with-cheese-for-dogs-55lbs-and-under](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/492273033-treats-with-cheese-for-dogs-55lbs-and-under) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-11-06*
