However perfect device, pop it next to your boiler and rest easy for another decade. Loud beep, compact, test button works. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ some QA issues but otherwise good *by A***R on 15 January 2021* The first unit I received was faulty, emitting a regular series of beeps which didn't match any in the instruction manual. I returned it and the second unit is fine. It's a well thought-out design with the ability to be wall or stand mounted. I'm 90% sure that you have to wall mount the backplate before affixing it to the unit, and once the backplate is on I can't see an easy way to remove it (batteries are built in so I presume this is by design).
