This model is the largest one, rich for details, so to say "the most fancy" from the entire range of UGEARS mechanical models.To show how the locomotive works you should switch a lever on the top of the cabin in one of three positions. In the neutral position you can roll a model and see the moving of the pistons and the drawbars on wheels. In the «forward» and «back» special ratchets on the large rubber engine starts working. Pre-blocking the transmission to the wheels by lever near the driver’s window, you can start a model with the key, which is located behind the cabin. In the cabin of the locomotive you can open doors and upper hatch. Inside you can see the driver space and some equipment. You really dont need glue, its all push fit and or held together with pegs. You do need a sharp knife to separate the parts and a candle to lubricate the moving parts with wax. This model is a work of genius. It is beautifully thought out and engineered and great fun to build. Tender size: 6.3*3.5*4.5in **Q: Is anyone else have issues getting it to move? When assembled, the gears seem to move fine but when I wind it up, it doesn't unwind.** A: You need to make sure all gears and wheels spin freely. It takes quite a few adjustments and you may have to trim some of the toothpicks to get them to move. Take out the gear that connects to rubber drive and make sure train can move with inertia alone. Also don't forget about lubricating the areas that touch. **Q: Can you make homemade track for it?** A: I suppose you could. Or, check out the railway crossing model which has extra track. If you need more, you can use them as a guide for making your own.
