To make matters worse, you probably own precisely zero in the way of devices equipped with USB-C connectors, so what on earth were you going to do with this shiny but connectivity-stunted new laptop?Of course, I’m writing this from experience after my other half bought a similarly equipped Ultrabook recently (without my input) and was all happy with it until she realised she needed to connect something with a USB-A connector to it, so I set out to see if there was something in the way of port replicator/docking station thingies that would give her the extra ports she needed and, of course, stumbled across this particular USB-C hub.This is a great and very compact little device that plugs into a USB-C port on her Ultrabook and gives her three USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI-out, an SD Card slot and a Micro-SD Card slot. Furthermore, just in case your Ultrabook has a single USB-C port which doubles-up as the power/charging port, the hub has a USB-C port on it for that purpose.In practise, it works perfectly. Upon plugging it into her laptop for the first time, Windows 10 detected it right away and set it up in a few moments. After that, devices that are plugged into any of the ports on the hub are detected properly and work as expected.The device itself is actually really nice - it’s made from machined aluminium so it’s quite tactile and goes some way to show why it’s a fairly expensive little gadget. It also comes with a little velvet pouch to keep it in when you’re taking it with you on your travels.Overall, my other half is really pleased with this thing, which is of course the best bit of it all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just as described *by J***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 January 2018* Ok, I've just plugged it in. But This is so well made, matches the look of my MacBook Pro and has just the right ports to make it a powerful multimedia beast again. Nice little indicator light showing that it's connected. Gets very warm, but so I've read they all do, especially when charging through them.Also, the placement of the USB-C is right, as it feels like something in the charging chain instead of a dongle.Edit: After 3 months, this has become invaluable. I made the right desicion on this one.
