While the majority of my backups are on the mirrored HDD drives, and the TrueNAS boot drives are the SSDs, I use these two Samsung NVMes as a high-performance NVME pool for storing apps, containers, metadata, VMs, databases, and PLEX metadata. I link the files stored here to my Cloud Server, in the up direction, and can view them locally in the Mac Finder in the down direction... as is the case for all Storage device. This one is top of its class, a bit pricey, small, super fast, plug and play essentially and very quiet. You can occasionally hear the fan come on which is recommended over a heat sink which, for the non techies out there, means an additional piece of ribbed aluminum typically where the heat migrates and dissipates.
