Typically it is used over existing gilding to refine the finish. It's unlikely the material will stand up to refiring, but perhaps that's not necessary and depends on how faux you want to go? It should apply quite nicely to an air drying ceramic putty, adhesive or cement but might need a couple of coats and maybe even a primer, that is if you are repairing a broken ceramic... Worth trying but may need an additional plain varnish coat once you have the desired effect if the item you plan to use it on will be used frequently.It may be more problematic if you plan to apply it to an undamaged, glazed, ceramic surface and you may wish to consider a bake-on ceramic pigment for that. Still, if you can I would recommend trying it, certainly if you are just looking for a purely decorative outcome. Good luck! **Q: Hi there. You could try something like Gold leaf that you put on with size. Or a better liquid gold leaf.
