Not sure if there is a trick or I got bad one.** A: Yes I had a problem with them stay on also I had to change the earrings completely **Q: Can you change the earings that comes with?** A: Yes, if you are using an earring from another kit it would be okay. Just wipe everything down with the alcohol pad. The earring comes out so you can charge it. **Q: How long does it take ears to heal?** A: I would keep the earrings from the kit on for a minimum of 6 weeks. The piercings that I performed using this kit I kept in for 3 months before I took them out to change earrings. It is very important to ensure to disinfect the earlobes before piercing. It is also very important to keep cleaning the earrings and lobes (back and front) for the first 6 weeks with a ear piercing disinfectant or hydrogen peroxide using sanitary q-tips with washed hands. When changing the earrings after 6 week mark, I also recommend that you soak the new pair of earrings in peroxide before inserting them into the pierced earlobes. I'm decently familiar with piercings and their care so I decided to order this kit and just do it myself. Everything was super easy to use. I did one ear towards the end of nap time and while unpleasantly surprised by her pinchy wake up, there was maybe 2 mins of fussing and it was done. I did the other ear a few days after, same thing. They are healing great and don't seem to be a bother at all, even when she lays on her side.
