I used 1kilo a couple of times after a half marathon. did it help? who knows. If you think in terms of magnesium spray, that is usually 30 - 50% magnesium, in a small bottle.I would say, because of the cost, I would only use a mug or two per bath now.Now I just use a little warm water in one hand mixed with another hand full of the crystals, rub together into an oil. and cover skin. **Q: if you put the flakes into a bath do they still sting? I am thinking 250g in or so into a half full bath not a huge amount.** A: I suffer from dermatitis and it sometimes stings for a couple of minutes but then is OK again, so generally not. I was advised by my nutritionist to put 225g in bath, then thereafter 450g, to soak for 30mins 3x a week. I was using Epson salts which are much cheaper, but at the minute I'm following a low sulphur protocol so can't use Epson salts.Hope that helps☺ **Q: if i use this as an oil can I apply after bathing without having to wash it off as seems to be suggested. I want to use to help with my sleep ,** A: I bathe in magnesium chloride and also apply as an oil immediately after bathing and not only does it help with sleep, muscle tension and arthritic pains decrease, skin is smoother and I get a wonderful night's sleep. I have not noticed any negative side effects, only positives. **Q: Can this be used in making bath bombs?** A: You can use some but bath bombs are mainly bicarbonate of soda with some essential oils I would imagine they will bind well though ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Such a great buy *by J***. on 15 July 2026* Absolutely fantastic product & value for money, I will re order the same when this one runs out! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ good stuff. *by M***O on 22 October 2013* I am a magnisium fan, it cured my chronicle lack of energy and consistent feeling of flue like simptoms and I find that putting it in the bath an excellent way to sooth my cramping leg muscle, it also gets rid of the ruff skin on my feet and anywhere else, tops of your arms lady's ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very relaxing *by L***D on 13 March 2019* Used this in my baths with lavender oil - very relaxing ## Frequently Bought Together - Magnesium Chloride Flakes 2.5kg tub - Hexeal Magnesium Flakes 5kg – 5kg Bucket of Magnesium Flakes to Soothe Muscles, Joints & Aches – for Bathing, Gardening & Beauty – Household & Commercial Use --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/48536910-magnesium-chloride-flakes-2-5kg-tub](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/48536910-magnesium-chloride-flakes-2-5kg-tub) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
