Each link is about 1 inch wide each component clips off and on. In my case I combined the gadgets and extra links to make my belt fit. The one thing I took off was the Velcro extension which makes the belt tricker to get on and off as you have to clip off a link and click on a link which is not easy with the mask on or trying to look down off the muscly shirt so you have to do it by feel. It really made the costume look great though having one solid belt all around. **Q: Do the pouches/compartments open to put batarangs in? or are they just for show?** A: They're just for show:( **Q: Can this be adjusted to fit a 38lb 4 year old ? If so how is it adjusted ?** A: Don’t think so **Q: Can this fit adults?** A: Yes, it can fit adults, just don't try to loop it through your belt loops.
