I thought they would help teach him about number formation. The set consists of cards 0-9, and some shape cards. It also has a range of play foam in different colours to mould onto the cards. We enjoyed doing this set. It was probably only about 15 minutes worth of entertainment but good fun all the same. I find I have to mix things up a bit anyway and I would certainly use it again. My kids are utter mixers and playdough always wind up one disgusting weird coloured blob. They have mixed all 8 colours of this together but it actually still looks good. It doesn't stick to the carper or to clothes or anything else. Not as mould able as play dough or as easy to make a model with but my boys are 3 and 6 and they arew absolutely loving it anyway.
